The Arts Education Committee was formed to advocate an integral part of the WIAC Mission “To further art education, including community arts activities and partnership with school-based arts programs “ This committee is in the process of applying for an Arts Education Community Consortia Grant awarded annually by the Washington State Arts Commission. This grant encourages communities to implement arts education in local public schools, pre-k through 12. It supports utilization of local resources through the formation of partnerships between educators, artists, arts organizations, parents, businesses, and community members.

The process involves the development of strong arts programming that will meet specific needs of the South Whidbey and Coupeville School Districts. The goal is to provide sustainable programming with community participation and advocacy.
