The Literary Arts Committee is active in current and developing literary events on the island including bi-monthly Poetry Slams with Jim Freeman. Plans are in discussion for expanding WIAC Literary Arts activities to include an annual island-wide "Festival of the Word" to bring together poets, playwrights, actors, musicians and others associated with the written word. The committee is dedicated to raising funds for literary scholarships as part of WIAC's broader scholarship program.
