The Island Arts Council sponsors local organizations, events, programs, and invidual artists through various funding, scholarships, and grants.
High School Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who are majoring in one of the fine arts in their first year of college. Scholarship applications for 2008 are currently being processed, and will be juried on May 18th. Application information for 2009 will be posted soon.
Artists Grants are given by the Open Studio Tour Committee to local artists in need of assistance. Applications can be found on the Open Studio Tour website.
Additional sponsorships and funding can be applied for using the form below. If you have a unique inquiry or a specific question, please email info@islandartscouncil.org. We'll route your request to the applicable board chair for review.
IAC also fiscally sponsors local organizations such as the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra on an on-going basis, in addition to in-kind sponsorship of services by IAC members, partners, and board members.
The Island Arts Council is proud to sponsor the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra, the Island Community Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra. The goal is to provide a quality musical experience for the musicians of Whidbey Island that fosters the joy of music-making while giving players the chance to apply skills acquired in private and personal study.

The Whidbey Island Open Studio Tour is an Island Arts Council event. It carries on a long tradition of the Island as a haven for artists. In 2007 over 100 artists and craftsmen opened their studios to give the public a unique opportunity to glimpse their creative world. It is art at the source. Painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, glass blowers, woodworkers, jewelers and crafters will demonstrate and explain their creative process during the two days of the tour.
