EXPLORING NATURE, INVESTIGATING MATERIALS
In this fun, creative, mixed media workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore 
the wonderful forms found in nature from germination, to flowering forms and use these as inspiration for mark making and illustrating these using a range of materials, including learning how to make your own tools such as paint brushes 
from found materials.

Nature Journaling Adventure
Your very own backyard on beautiful Whidbey Island is full of plants, animals, insects and STUFF that is waiting to be discovered, observed and recorded in your own style in your own journal. You will learn how to observe like a scientist, sketch your discoveries like an artist and make connections between nature and your own world of dreams and imagination. Bring your curiosity and create a Nature Journal!
ART CLASS RELEASE

We cannot wait to have your child with us for the  Art Classes. Please take a moment  to review this release and disclaimer so that your child’s well-being is accounted for. No registration will be considered complete and/or final, nor will any child be allowed to participate, prior to receipt of this release.  Please understand the following conditions apply to all activities, no exceptions.   

​I, the undersigned certify that I am the parent or guardian of the above named child. I do hereby consent to participation in  Art Classes by my child/ward. My child or ward will be accompanied by parent or guardian for these nature classes.

Following the pronouncements above, I hereby declare the following:
I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and the safety of my child.

With full knowledge of the risks involved, I hereby release, waive, discharge the Organizations, their boards, officers, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, representatives, successors, and assigns from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury.

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Organizations from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, lawsuits, and/or liabilities or claims arising whether directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the released party due to injury, and loss.

By signing below I acknowledge that I have read the foregoing Liability Release Waiver and understand its contents; that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to give my consent; That I have been sufficiently informed of the risks involved and give my voluntary consent in signing it as my own free act and deed; that I give my voluntary consent in signing this Liability Release Waiver as my own free act and deed with full intention to be bound by the same, and free from any inducement or representation.
I further agree to hold harmless and release Whidbey Island Arts Council and staff from any loss, liability, damage or cost including court costs and attorney’s fees that they might incur due to my child’s involvement or participation in the  Art Classes.
Only a parent or legally recognized  guardian may register a child for Art Classes.
2. Participation in the Art Classes are at the risk and discretion of the parent or guardian enrolling the child.
3. A parent or supervising adult must be available to help the child with the art class.
4. Parents or guardians are responsible for maintaining safety for each child participating in classes.
5. We will use photos from the class for future promotion and also in grants.
