Holiday Classes for Kids
Each year, during December, the Whidbey Island Arts Council runs a series of FREE art classes for children, 8 to 12 years of age. We target underserved children of the island and then open the class seats left available to all children in this age group island wide. We provide art supplies, snacks, and art supplies for the children to take home. Contact Kay Parsons for information. |

In addition, the Consort sponsors two annual festivals: New Music on the Rock, featuring contemporary classical composers and their works and the Luise Greger Women in Music Fest, featuring music written and performed by women. WHIDBEY WORKING ARTISTS
In 2004 a small group of north central artists founded Whidbey Working Artists as a vehicle for promoting the visual arts and artists of Whidbey Island. Our mission is to share the arts and artists of Whidbey Island with the broader NW community. Whidbey Island is home to a large, vibrant, diverse community of artists. As an organization we believe that opening our studios offers visitors the opportunity to share in the process of how art is created and a glimpse of how artists inhabit their creative space. This shared experience between artists and visitors provides a stimulating creative conversation that enhances the arts while also educating and developing an appreciation for the handcrafted.
