The Whidbey Island Arts Experience
   Create. Engage. Inspire.
Whidbey Arts Marketing Alliance (WhAMA) is a partnership of organizations and individuals committed to promoting Whidbey Island arts and its artists' community off-island in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This includes visual arts, music arts, performing arts, studios, events and galleries specializing in the work of Whidbey Island artists. Our goal is to bring visitors to the island year-round to create a sustaining income for our arts community and increasing the profile of Whidbey Island as a cultural community that visitors can experience recreationally, with venues for learning, teaching, and collecting.
Our Alliance message is: Whidbey as an arts destination.
A recent study done in 2019 from the U.S. Travel Association reveals the top three things people want when they travel are to go to a rural environment, be near water, and to have localized experiences, which includes local foods, arts, culture, and outdoor activities.
Whidbey taps into all three as much of the art is inspired by the beauty of our rural environment, the water and surrounding views. Galleries, studios, art events, and opportunities for learning create a local experience.
